Dog-Friendly Beaches in Roses

The 3 km main town beach of fine sand running along the inner crescent of the Bahía de Roses, framed by the Ciutadella walls on the southern flank and the rising Cap de Creus headland to the north. Supervised in summer with the standard ban on dogs (leash-tolerated October to May per the Ajuntament ordenança), and lined with showers, the Passeig Marítim cafés and an accessible boardwalk.

A 200 m sand and pebble cove at the dramatic end of the Cala Montjoi road 7 km north-east of Roses, on the southern edge of the Cap de Creus Natural Park. The legendary El Bulli restaurant occupied the headland above the cove from 1962 to 2011; the Foundation museum reopened on the site in 2023. Not municipally supervised, so the in-town summer ban does not apply; leashed dogs welcome year-round.

A secluded 400 m sand cove on the northern edge of the Bahía de Roses, partly shielded by low dunes and pine cover, with a small roadside car park reached via the GIV-6216. Outside the supervised central beach zone and historically tolerant of leashed dogs year-round; verify the current year`s Ajuntament ordenança before settling in during summer.
