Dog-Friendly Parks & Outdoor Spaces in Ras Al Khaimah

Jebel Jais is the UAE`s highest mountain, and its Viewing Deck Park and lower hiking trails are listed on the official Ras Al-K9 program as dog-accessible on a leash. The marked walking routes climb through dramatic Hajar Mountain scenery, and the mountain road itself is a spectacular drive with several stops. Dogs are not allowed on the zipline, Sky Tour or other adventure rides.

The wadis (dry mountain valleys) of the Hajar range are among RAK`s best leashed-dog walks, with Wadi Shawka and Wadi Ghalila both listed on the official Ras Al-K9 program. These are rocky, partly shaded routes that occasionally hold pools of water in winter, far cooler and more interesting than any city park. Bring all your own water for both of you.

Run by the RAK Animal Welfare Centre at Al Jazirah Al Hamra, this is one of the UAE`s largest open-air dog parks, with more than 7,000 square metres of fenced off-leash areas, an agility section, a dog swimming pool and a café. The important caveat for visitors: it operates on a membership basis rather than as a casual drop-in, so contact the centre in advance to ask about access.
