Byzantine Trail (Lefkes to Prodromos)
A roughly 3.7 mile out-and-back stone path winding through the island's green interior from the hill village of Lefkes down to Prodromos, following an old marble-paved route once used by mules and pilgrims. It is the island's signature dog walk, with low traffic, terraced fields and shade in places, best tackled early morning or late afternoon in summer.
Off-leash zone: No designated off-leash zone. Keep dogs leashed near grazing livestock and villages
๐ก Start at first light in July and August. The marble paving and exposed stretches heat up fast, and there is little water on the route, so carry plenty
