Dog-Friendly Attractions & Activities in Nice

Seven kilometres of seafront promenade running the full length of Nice's bay. One of the world's most famous urban walks, and completely free. Dogs on leash are always welcome on the paved promenade itself. The iconic blue chairs (chaises bleues) are there to sit in, and your dog can lie at your feet while you watch the sea. The walk from the Vieux-Nice end to the airport boundary takes roughly 90 minutes at a gentle pace.

The old town of Nice is a tightly packed baroque urban quarter with some of the finest street architecture on the Côte d'Azur. Walking through it with a dog is perfectly normal — the streets are pedestrian, the locals are relaxed, and the colours and smells are extraordinary. The cours Saleya market, the Baroque church of Saint-Réparate, the Place du Palais de Justice, and the covered Capucin market are all within a 15-minute walking radius. Dogs on leash are fine everywhere.

The hilltop park above Vieux-Nice is not just a walk — it is one of the finest viewpoints in the Mediterranean. From the main belvedere at the top, the view takes in the full arc of the Baie des Anges, the curve of the Promenade des Anglais, the orange rooftops of the old town, and on clear days the mountains behind. Dogs on leash are welcome throughout. The park has shaded paths, a free lift for access, a waterfall, and several benches at the best viewpoints.
