Skånetrafiken (Buses, Pågatåg & Öresundståg in Sweden)
💡 Pågatåg trains have a designated 'pet carriage' marked with a dog pictogram on the door — riding there minimises friction with allergy-sensitive passengers.
Dogs travel free on the entire Skånetrafiken network in and around Malmö (city buses, regional buses and Pågatåg / Öresundståg trains within Sweden), with up to two pets per passenger, leashed and kept off the seats. The Öresundståg connection to Copenhagen also accepts dogs, but a Danish-side child fare applies for larger dogs once the train crosses the bridge. Small dogs in a closed carrier travel free everywhere on the network. For visitors, the Skånetrafiken app or the Pågatåg ticket window will issue a no-cost dog confirmation if asked.

💡 Pågatåg trains have a designated 'pet carriage' marked with a dog pictogram on the door — riding there minimises friction with allergy-sensitive passengers.

💡 Buy the Danish-side dog ticket from the conductor on board or via the DSB app before boarding — Skånetrafiken-only tickets do not cover the Danish leg for large dogs.

💡 Carry a clean blanket and lay it across the back seat — drivers approve faster and any deposit / cleaning surcharge is far less likely.
