Dog-Friendly Beaches in Malmö

The official Malmö dog beach, at the northern end of the long Ribersborg sand strip. Dogs may swim and run off-leash year-round inside the marked zone. A safety upgrade in summer 2025 improved the entry slope and added signage. The shoreline is gently sloping with calm Øresund water — well suited to first-time dog swimmers.

An informal dog swimming spot at Sibbarp beach, south of Ribersborg and under the Øresund Bridge. The shoreline is rockier than Ribersborg but the water is calm and shallow, popular with retriever owners on summer evenings when the official beach gets crowded. Outside the marked area, the same 15 March–30 September swimming ban applies.

A 7 km white-sand beach at the southwestern tip of Skåne, classified blue flag and with a clearly marked dog section at the western end. Dogs run off-leash year-round inside the marked zone; the rest of the beach is leash-only with a 15 May–15 September swimming ban for dogs. Reachable from Malmö Central in roughly 35 minutes via Pågatåg to Höllviken then bus 100.
