Getting Around Mahón with Your Pet

TMSA / Transportes Menorca operates the island-wide bus network from Mahón's main bus station next to Plaça de s'Esplanada. The full schedule reaches Ciutadella, Ferreries, Es Mercadal, Es Castell, Sant Lluís, Es Grau, and the main south-coast beaches. Pets in an approved carrier travel free; larger dogs on a leash and muzzle are accepted at the driver's discretion, generally without issue outside the peak summer rush hours.

Mahón-Menorca airport (IATA: MAH) is 5 km south of the city, a 10-minute taxi ride. Most major Spanish and European airlines operate seasonal routes; pet hold and cabin policies vary by carrier. The L10 city bus connects the airport to Mahón bus station; pets in carriers travel free. A taxi from the airport to the centre costs €15 to €20.

Trasmediterránea and Baleària both operate car ferries from the Maó passenger terminal: an overnight crossing to Barcelona (about 8 hours) and a longer service to Valencia (about 14 hours). Pet cabins are available on most overnight sailings for an additional €60 to €100 per pet; otherwise pets travel in dedicated kennels on the car deck. A separate Iscomar service connects Maó to Palma de Mallorca (about 6 hours).
