Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Linz

Linz's oldest Viennese-style coffee house, opened in 1847, with chandeliers, marble-topped tables, newspaper racks and a vaulted Schanigarten under chestnut trees. Leashed dogs are welcome year-round inside the main saloon and on the summer terrace, with water bowls brought to the table. The menu is classic Austrian: Wiener Melange, Kaiserschmarrn, Tafelspitz and a daily Linzer Torte from the in-house Konditorei. The most central dog-friendly fika stop in town.

A modern Wirtshaus on the Donaulände, with a wide outdoor terrace overlooking the Danube and the Ars Electronica Center across the water. Dogs on a lead are welcome on the terrace year-round and inside the bar area; water bowls are kept by the entrance. The kitchen is Austrian-modern — Schnitzel, Beuschel, regional fish from the Mühlviertel — with a strong regional wine list. A favourite of dog owners coming back from a Danube walk.

A specialty coffee and breakfast café on Kaplanhofstraße between the Volksgarten and the main station, with a rotating monthly espresso, handmade pastries from baker Brandl and a small breakfast plate menu. Leashed dogs are welcome inside year-round; the half-dozen pavement tables open from April to October. The bookings tend to be local — students, freelancers, dog owners — and the staff brings a water bowl without being asked.
