Dog Parks & Walks in Kefalonia

A protected coastal lagoon on the edge of Argostoli, a feeding ground for loggerhead sea turtles, swans, ducks and migrating birds, ringed by an easy flat walking trail. It connects to the roughly 700-metre De Bosset stone bridge, the longest stone sea bridge in the world, making a pleasant car-free loop popular with local dog walkers.

A scenic coastal loop around the Argostoli cape that passes the Katavothres sea-mill sinkholes, where seawater disappears underground, and the circular Doric-columned Agios Theodoros (Fanari) lighthouse from 1828. It is explicitly described as ideal for a walk with the family or the dog, and is flat and easily reached on foot from the Argostoli waterfront.

Greece's national park protecting the endemic Kefalonian fir and home to the famous semi-wild Ainos horses, foxes and rare birds, noticeably cooler than the coast. The Environmental Centre at Ainos-Chionistra offers an easy circular path of around six kilometres reachable by a paved road, with options from gentle walks to longer hikes.
