Pet-Friendly Attractions in Kefalonia

The De Bosset bridge is the longest stone sea bridge in the world, a flat pedestrian-only crossing of around 700 metres leading to the green Koutavos Lagoon nature area. The lagoon is home to loggerhead sea turtles, ducks and swans, with a tree-lined waterside trail that is the favourite local dog-walking route.

A pastel-coloured fishing village of around a hundred residents on a horseshoe bay, crowned by a 16th-century Venetian fortress on the Frourio peninsula. The castle is an open-air, unticketed ruin reached by outdoor walking paths, so a leashed dog can join the whole walk and explore the harbour and lanes below.

The island's most picturesque harbour and the only village to keep its original Venetian architecture, with pastel houses lining a quay full of tavernas and yachts. It stays relatively laid-back even in summer, and its open-air waterfront and surrounding coastal paths are made for a leisurely leashed stroll.
