Pet-Friendly Transport in Hyères

Réseau Mistral runs the urban buses and the seasonal bateaux-bus across 12 communes of the Toulon agglomeration, including Hyères. Small pets travelling in a basket are free of charge; large dogs must be on a leash and wear a muzzle. The bus from Hyères centre to La Tour Fondue (Giens), which serves the Porquerolles ferry, is the practical line for visitors with a dog.

TLV-TVM run the year-round shuttles to Porquerolles (from La Tour Fondue, 20 minutes) and Port-Cros and Le Levant (from Port d'Hyères, 60 minutes). Per the official règlement intérieur, dogs travel free and need no ticket, must be on a leash on board, and the company recommends a muzzle on busy summer crossings. Note the destination rules below: dogs are restricted on the islands themselves.

Hyères is the eastern end of the Marseille-Toulon-Hyères TER line, with services every 30 to 60 minutes to Toulon (20 minutes) and through to Marseille Saint-Charles (1h30). Cross-platform changes at Toulon connect to TGV services for Paris, Lyon and Lille. SNCF pet rules apply: dogs under 6 kg in a carrier 7.50 EUR, larger dogs on a leash and muzzle at 50% of the adult fare.
