Haga
Haga · Haga Nygata, 413 01 Göteborg
Gothenburg's best-preserved 19th-century wooden district — a grid of colourful low wooden houses, cobbled streets, and an unbroken line of café terraces on Haga Nygata. The neighbourhood is alive with dogs at all hours, and the café culture here is among the most dog-welcoming in Scandinavia. Café Husaren, with its enormous cinnamon buns, is the anchor, but the whole street is essentially one long dog-welcoming terrace. Walking from Järntorget through Haga to Slottsskogen is the classic Gothenburg dog circuit.
💡 Walk the full length of Haga Nygata, turn left at the top into Slottsskogen, and loop back through the park — a 90-minute circuit that covers the best of both.
