Pet-Friendly Attractions in Genoa

Genoa's flagship public space — the historic harbour redesigned by Renzo Piano for the 1992 Columbus celebrations, with the Bigo crane lift, sailing-ship replicas, dockside cafés and the Aquarium. Dogs on lead are welcome on all the public quays and walkways. The promenade from the Aquarium to the Magazzini del Cotone and back is a flat, sea-spray-cooled 1 km loop.

A pastel-painted fishing village folded into a tiny pebble cove on the eastern edge of Genoa, accessible on foot via the Corso Italia seafront promenade (3 km from the centre). Dogs on lead are welcome throughout the village streets, on the small piazza overlooking the cove, and on the cove itself outside summer mornings. One of the most photographed views in Liguria.

The most famous belvedere over the Genoa rooftops and harbour, perched on a hilltop above the historic centre and reached by a 1909 Art Nouveau public elevator from Piazza Portello. Dogs on lead are welcome on the terrace, in the elevator, and along the surrounding paths. The view at sunset is one of the great urban panoramas in Italy.
