Forested 25-hectare park surrounding the neo-classical Mon Repos villa where Prince Philip of Edinburgh was born in 1921. Shaded paths through cypress, holly oak and umbrella pine; ancient Greek temple ruins; quiet coves on the eastern flank. The shadiest summer walk in Corfu Town.

Old Fortress Promontory

East of the Spianada · Palaio Frourio, 49100 Corfu

Venetian fortress on a twin-peaked rocky promontory jutting east of the Spianada, separated from the Old Town by the Contra Fossa moat. The outdoor ramparts and paths loop around both peaks with 360 degree views over the harbour, the Spianada and the Albanian coast.

💡 Entry 6 EUR (free for dogs). The interior museum and chapel ban dogs but all outdoor paths and ramparts are open. Climb to the eastern peak (Land Tower) for the best panorama.
