Cologne Cathedral Exterior & Surroundings
Altstadt-Nord
The UNESCO World Heritage cathedral dominates the city skyline. Dogs are not admitted inside, but the large forecourt (Domplatte) and surrounding pedestrian area are dog-friendly. The view of the cathedral from the Hohenzollernbrücke (the love lock bridge) is one of the most photogenic spots in Germany, and dogs are welcome on the bridge. The Rhine promenade immediately below the cathedral area is outstanding for a morning walk.
💡 The Hohenzollernbrücke is free to walk and provides the best dog-and-cathedral photo opportunity. Cross to the Deutz side for the perfect symmetrical shot.
