Cologne Cathedral Exterior & Surroundings
Altstadt-Nord
The UNESCO World Heritage cathedral dominates the city skyline. Dogs are not admitted inside, but the large forecourt (Domplatte) and surrounding pedestrian area are dog-friendly. The view of the cathedral from the Hohenzollernbrücke (the love lock bridge) is one of the most photogenic spots in Germany — and dogs are welcome on the bridge. The Rhine promenade immediately below the cathedral area is outstanding for a morning walk.
💡 The Hohenzollernbrücke is free to walk and provides the best dog-and-cathedral photo opportunity. Cross to the Deutz side for the perfect symmetrical shot.
