Playa La Fossa (Levante)
💡 From November to April this is the easy default urban swim spot, with the Peñón de Ifach as the most dramatic beach backdrop on the Costa Blanca. In summer, use the Paseo Marítimo above the sand instead
Calpe sits at the centre of one of the most distinctive beach bays on the Costa Blanca: the 950 m Playa La Fossa (Levante) sweeps north of the Peñón de Ifach, the central Playa Arenal-Bol runs south of the rock, and a string of rocky coves (Cala El Racó, Cala Manzanera, Cala Calalga, Cala Morelló) extends north and south. The main urban beaches enforce the standard Ajuntament Calp ordenanza summer dog ban from May to mid-October. Always verify the current ordenanza on the Ajuntament website before letting your dog onto any sand, the exact zones and dates are reset annually.

💡 Visit the Banys de la Reina Roman fish-farming pools at the south end at sunset, leashed dogs welcome on the boardwalk above the pools all year

💡 Bring booties for rocky access if your dog has sensitive paw pads. Cala El Racó next to the port is the easiest access with shallow protected water, ideal for older dogs that are not strong swimmers
