Pet-Friendly Attractions in Burgos

The panoramic viewpoint above the cathedral and historic centre, on the forested hill of the old castle. Reached on foot via stone steps from the Arco de San Esteban. Fully open public ground with dogs welcome on lead and one of the best free panoramas of any Spanish UNESCO city.

A 15th-century Carthusian monastery 4 km east of the city centre, surrounded by oak forest at the end of the Parque de Fuentes Blancas riverside walk. The chapel interior (free entry) does not admit dogs, but the wooded approach and the formal grounds outside the cloister are dog-accessible. A peaceful long walk from the centre.

A 12th-century royal Cistercian monastery founded by Eleanor of Aquitaine, still home to a community of nuns. The interior is only visited on a guided tour without dogs, but the exterior compound and the surrounding park are fully dog-accessible and worth the 25-minute walk west from the cathedral.
