Bremer Straßenbahn AG operates 8 tram lines and over 40 bus routes. Trams 1-10 cover the centre and connect every major district; buses fill in the gaps and run a 24-hour service on weekends. The flagship Tram 6 connects the Hauptbahnhof to the Universität via Bürgerpark.

The 1889 main station handles InterCity, ICE and regional rail. Direct hourly trains to Hamburg (60 min), Hannover (75 min) and Berlin (3 h). Dogs travel free in carriers; larger dogs require a half-fare ticket on long-distance and a regional supplement on local trains.
