Begur is a 4,000-resident Costa Brava centre clifftop medieval town crowning a 200 m hill in the Baix Empordà comarca of Girona, defined by the 11th-century castle ruins on the summit, the 19th-century cases indianas mansions built by returnees from Cuba, and a portfolio of six pristine fishing coves wrapping the rocky cape below (Sa Tuna, Aiguablava, Aiguafreda, Sa Riera, Fornells, Tamariu). The Plaça de l`Església, the Carrer Bonaventura Carreras Peralta and the Carrer Pi i Ralló in the casc antic concentrate the village restaurants, while each cala holds its own seafront chiringuito or restaurant (L`Hostal de Sa Tuna, Hotel Aigua Blava beachfront, Es Dofí at Sa Riera). Catalan health rules (Decret 1/2010 and Llei 22/2003) leave dog access at the host`s discretion as long as the dog is leashed and outside food preparation zones. Most terraces openly welcome dogs because the customer base mixes Camí de Ronda GR-92 hikers, Cap de Begur lighthouse walkers and Empordà residents who walk the village with their pet. The three addresses below appear consistently on the Ajuntament de Begur tourism office`s curated map and on Google`s `accepts dogs` filter for the town.
