Best Parks & Dog Areas in Aveiro

Aveiro's first dog park, opened in 2019 on the east side of the city next to the Galitos pavilion. Fully fenced with a sanitary box, an area for owners, public lighting and agility equipment: stairs, jump barriers, a plank and a tunnel. The original off-leash spot in the city.

The newest of Aveiro's three municipal dog parks, on the west side by the Canal de São Roque bridge, opposite the Vera Cruz community centre. A recent municipal investment with a security fence, sanitary box, owner seating, lighting and a full set of agility elements: stairs, jump barriers, plank and tunnel.

Aveiro's central city park, laid out from 1862 on the grounds of a former convent and covering around 20 hectares, the largest continuous green space in the centre. Tree-lined avenues, a late Art Nouveau iron bandstand, lakes, a tea house and picnic areas. Dogs welcome on a leash for a shaded city stroll.
