Dog-Friendly Attractions in Aveiro

The colourful moliceiro boats, once used to gather seaweed and now electric, glide along the Central Canal past Art Nouveau facades, the Beira-Mar district and the salt-marsh canals. A canal-side walk is free and dog-friendly; small leashed or muzzled dogs can even join a cruise if requested when booking.

The candy-striped palheiros of Costa Nova, originally fishermen's warehouses, are among Portugal's most photographed houses, lining the lagoon-side avenue a short drive from Aveiro. The seafront promenade is fully outdoors and dog-friendly on a leash, with plenty of cafés for a stop along the way.
