Cabanes ostrรฉicoles du Port de L'Aiguillon
Port de L'Aiguillon ยท Port de L'Aiguillon, 33120 Arcachon
The working oyster port of L'Aiguillon is the most authentic place to eat huitres du Bassin in Arcachon. A cluster of producers turn their cabanes into informal tasting tables in season, where you sit at simple benches over the water, a dozen oysters and a glass of Entre-Deux-Mers in front of you, while the tide moves in the channel. Dogs are entirely at home here, tied at a bench leg or sprawled on the boards while you eat. This is producer-direct, unpretentious, and deeply local. The oysters are opened in front of you, served with bread, butter, lemon, and often the local crevettes and pignots. Go at lunch on a sunny day and let your dog watch the oyster boats come and go.
๐ก Go at low tide for the calmest setting and the oyster boats grounded on the sand. Bring cash, some cabanes do not take cards
