EU pets: The UAE is not part of the EU pet-passport scheme. Every pet, including those from the EU, needs a UAE import permit from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, an ISO 11784/11785 microchip, a valid rabies vaccination given at least 21 days before entry, and a recent official health certificate. Banned dangerous breeds are not admitted.
Non-EU pets: The same UAE import rules apply to pets from any country: import permit from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, ISO microchip, valid rabies vaccination and recent official health certificate. Requirements and fees can change, so check the ministry`s official rules close to travel.
