Padua's tourist board and the Municipality (Comune di Padova) maintain pet-friendly information on their tourism portal, including the list of official aree cani and accessible parks. The Comune requires all dogs to be on a leash maximum 1.5 m in public, with a muzzle available on demand; clean-up is mandatory and fined €25–500 if breached. Free poop-bag dispensers are installed in major parks.

Padua's main paid museums (Scrovegni Chapel, Eremitani Civic Museums, Palazzo Zuckermann, Orto Botanico) prohibit all dogs except registered assistance dogs. The Basilica di Sant'Antonio (Il Santo) interior is closed to dogs, but the surrounding piazza and the Prato della Valle two blocks away are fully open. The Caffè Pedrocchi historic café accepts well-behaved dogs in its outdoor seating area only.

The Colli Euganei Regional Park, the volcanic thermal hills 20–30 km south of Padua, is a top half-day or full-day outing. The park has over 150 km of marked hiking trails open to leashed dogs, plus dog-friendly agriturismi and the historic village of Arquà Petrarca. The thermal spa towns (Abano, Montegrotto) have strict no-dog policies inside the spa facilities themselves, but the village streets and surrounding trails are fully dog-welcoming.
