Bolzano's most-visited museum, home of the 5,300-year-old Iceman, has a clear pet policy: small dogs may enter in a carrier bag or in your arms; larger dogs are accepted in a non-reservable kennel in the entrance area at owner's risk. Visit time is roughly 90 minutes, so plan dog logistics accordingly. The surrounding pedestrian streets are leashed-dog friendly.

Bolzano sits at the warmest valley spot in northern Italy: July afternoons routinely hit 32–35 °C, and the polished porphyry of the Altstadt streets (Via dei Portici, Piazza Walther) absorbs heat aggressively. Walks are best before 10:00 or after 19:00 in June–August. Booster strategies: the Renon cable car (12 min to 18 °C cooler air), the Guncina promenade (continuous shade), the Talvera gravel banks (cool water under the feet).
