Keswick

A flat, easy fifteen-minute stroll from the Market Square to one of the most-painted views in England over Derwentwater. Dogs on a lead (waterfowl and road nearby).

The best-loved small fell in the Lakes, a roughly 5.6 km round with a few easy rocky scrambles and huge views over Derwentwater. Dogs off-lead under control, on the lead near sheep.

The gentle grassy fell right above Keswick, the biggest view in the northern Lakes for the least effort. Start from the Gale Road car park for a short there-and-back.

Launches that circle Derwentwater and call at seven jetties, including Hawes End for Catbells. Dogs travel free, kept on a lead.
