Wroclaw's public transport network (MPK) is one of the easiest in Europe for travellers with dogs. Trams and buses both accept dogs free of charge and there is no extra ticket to buy. The basic rules are practical: a leash and a muzzle for any dog larger than a small carrier, plus the rabies vaccination booklet on hand if a controller asks. The city is flat, compact, and exceptionally cyclable, with a good network of separated bike lanes that make a cargo-bike or trailer setup the most agreeable way to get around with a medium-to-large dog. Long-distance trains operated by PKP Intercity also accept dogs (small dogs in carrier free, larger dogs at half-fare).
| Mode | Policy | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Tram & Bus (MPK) | Free for all dogs. Leash and muzzle required for medium-to-large dogs; small dogs in a carrier travel without muzzle. Rabies vaccination certificate must be available on request. | ๐ก |
| PKP Intercity (long-distance trains) | Small dogs in a carrier travel free. Larger dogs require a half-fare ticket plus a leash and muzzle. Rabies vaccination certificate mandatory. | ๐ก |
| Taxi (iTaxi, Bolt, Uber) | Driver acceptance is at their discretion. Bolt and Uber both have a 'Pet' option in-app that signals you are travelling with an animal. Always specify dog size when booking. | ๐ก |
| Bike & cargo bike | Wroclaw has more than 250 km of dedicated bike lanes. The Wrocลawski Rower Miejski (Wroclaw City Bike) sharing system does not allow dogs, but private cargo bikes and trailers are common. | ๐ก |
