Pet-Friendly Attractions in Vannes

Around 900 metres of preserved 13th-to-16th-century fortified walls, the best-conserved enceinte in Brittany, built on a Roman foundation around the hill of Mené. The complete walk around the ramparts takes about 45 minutes and includes views down onto the Jardin des Remparts and the Marle river.

Vannes' emblematic Gothic cathedral, begun in the 13th century and completed in the 19th, with a Renaissance Italian chapel of the Rosary and the tomb of Saint Vincent Ferrer. Free entry every day morning to evening; only assistance dogs may enter, but the Place Saint-Pierre outside and the Vieille Ville lanes around are fully pedestrian and dog-friendly.

The half-timbered Place Henri IV at the heart of the Vieille Ville, lined with 15th- and 16th-century corbelled houses, the most photographed square in Vannes. The surrounding Rue Saint-Salomon and Rue des Halles preserve some of the most intact medieval domestic architecture in Brittany.
