24-Hour & Emergency Veterinarians in Uppsala

The teaching hospital of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) on the Ultuna campus south of the centre. UDS is the only fully staffed 24-hour small-animal referral hospital in Sweden, with surgery, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology and a dedicated emergency reception. It is where the local primary-care vets refer their most complex cases, and it is the default destination for any night-time emergency in the Uppsala region.

A 1 600 m² primary-care and emergency clinic in the Bolanderna district, 2 km east of the cathedral. Evidensia is the largest commercial vet group in the Nordic countries and the Uppsala branch has surgery, orthopedics, dermatology, internal medicine and an oncology service. The walk-in emergency reception during the long opening hours makes it the most practical day-time option if you do not need the full UDS hospital.

An independent family-run clinic on the Sunnersta side of the river, with a strong reputation for orthopedics and rehabilitation. Useful as a third option if UDS is queued or Evidensia is closed during the working day — the limited weekend window means it is not a true after-hours emergency facility, but the surgical and dental work is well regarded by local owners.
