Storvadsbadet
Storvreta / Gamla Uppsala · Storvadsbadet, 754 31 Uppsala
💡 Look for the hundbad signpost on the southern end of the beach — that is the only stretch where your dog is allowed in the water during the family bathing season.
Uppsala is inland and has no sea coast, but the city sits on the Fyrisån river and on the northern shore of Lake Ekoln, a wide bay of Lake Mälaren. The municipality maintains around fifteen public bathing places, several of which include a designated dog beach (hundbad) separated from the family bathing area. The flagship is Storvadsbadet just north of Gamla Uppsala, where a marked stretch of shoreline is set aside for dogs. Note that on most non-designated public beaches Swedish national rules effectively prohibit dogs from entering the water between 15 March and 30 September.

Sunnersta / Lake Ekoln shore · Lyssnaängsvägen, 756 50 Uppsala
💡 Combine an off-season Lyssnaängen walk with a coffee back in the centre — UL bus 13 runs from the beach to Stora Torget in 18 minutes.

Fjällnora (15 km east of city centre) · Fjällnoravägen, 755 96 Uppsala
💡 A car is by far the easiest way to reach Fjällnora; UL bus 813 runs from Uppsala C but takes 50 minutes with limited schedules outside summer weekends.
