Pet-Friendly Attractions in Trapani

Trapani's old town occupies a narrow sickle of land reaching into the sea, with baroque churches, Via Garibaldi's palazzi and lively pedestrian streets. It is all walkable on a leash, with plenty of cafe terraces to pause at and shade between the tall buildings in the late afternoon.

A 17th-century watchtower standing at the very tip of Trapani's peninsula, surrounded by sea on three sides with sweeping sunset views toward the Egadi islands. The breezy outdoor esplanade around the tower is a lovely leashed walk, though dogs cannot enter the small museum inside.

The medieval village of Erice sits on a mountain at 750 m, reached in about 10 minutes by a cable car that accepts dogs (leash for small dogs, leash and muzzle for larger ones). Its cobbled lanes, castle and panoramas are dog-friendly, and the altitude makes it markedly cooler than the coast.
