Dog-Friendly Parks & Green Spaces in Tours

Tours' largest urban park, 14 hectares of wooded areas, lawns, picnic tables and a children's play area, with the city's first official aire d'ébats canins (fenced off-leash dog area) inaugurated on 3 October 2021. There is even a 1+ hectare enclosure with llamas near the tennis club. Leashed dogs welcome throughout the wider park.

An 18-hectare park around an artificial lake south of the Cher river, with a 2.3 km perimeter walking loop, a play area, picnic spots and the Cercle de Voile de Touraine sailing club. Leashed dogs welcome throughout. Heavily frequented by Tours residents at evenings and weekends, with morning runners using the lake circuit.

A 4-hectare 19th-century English-style park designed in 1872 by the Bühler brothers (also the landscape architects of Parc de la Tête d'Or in Lyon), a 7-minute walk from the train station. A stream, mature trees, lawns and flower beds in a refined Belle Époque setting. Leashed dogs welcome - this is where central Tours residents take the morning coffee walk.
