Pet-Friendly Transport in Toulon

The Toulon Provence Méditerranée urban network covers the city, La Seyne-sur-Mer, Saint-Mandrier and Six-Fours, with bus lines on land and bateau-bus shuttles across the Rade. Unlike most French municipal networks, the official rules admit large dogs on lead with a muzzle and a paid transport ticket; small dogs in a basket and guide/assistance dogs travel free. Toulon station sits at the northern edge of the Vieille Ville, 5 minutes' walk from the Cours Lafayette. TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon in 4h, TER along the coast to Marseille (50 min), Saint-Raphaël (55 min) and Nice (2h). SNCF national pet rules apply: dogs under 6 kg in a carrier on a 0 EUR animal ticket, larger dogs on lead and muzzled at 50 percent of the adult fare capped at 7 EUR. A small regional airport 20 minutes east of Toulon, with Air France, Volotea, Brussels Airlines and seasonal Ryanair routes to Paris Orly, Brussels, Olbia and Athens among others. Standard airline pet rules apply: most carriers admit pets up to 8 kg including carrier in cabin and require advance booking. For year-round flexibility, Marseille Provence (MRS, 1h30 by road) carries far more pet-friendly route options.
