Pet-Friendly Beaches in Toulon

The official year-round dog beach at the eastern end of the Mourillon strip, with a dedicated dog swim zone, a ramp into the water for older dogs and shaded benches above the rocks. Listed by the City of Toulon and the regional Provence-Méditerranée tourism office as the cani-plage de Toulon. Dogs on lead on the path approaches; off-lead permitted inside the dog swim zone only.

The paved seafront promenade running 1.4 km behind the Mourillon strip, with palm trees, benches and the Mediterranean horizon. The 2023 City regulation admits leashed dogs on the Henri Fabre promenade from 1 September to 31 May, and from 1 June to 31 August only between 06:00 and 08:30. Dogs are prohibited on the lawns and sand even on lead at all other times.

A series of small rocky coves at the western end of the Mourillon, between the Saint-Louis fort and the Tour Royale, reached by a short coastal path. The supervised summer swim zone bans dogs on lead from 1 June to 31 August; the rocky shoreline and the coastal path outside the zone tolerate leashed dogs year-round. Less crowded than the central Mourillon beaches and a good option for an off-season swim.
