Parks, Trails & Mont Faron in Toulon

The 584-metre limestone ridge that dominates the city, with the cable car climbing from the Super-Toulon station in 6 minutes. The Mont Faron tourism office confirms dogs travel free on the cable car as long as they are on a leash. On top: pine forests, marked walking loops, the Mémorial du Débarquement (interior bans dogs), the Tour Beaumont and a 360-degree panorama from Hyères to La Ciotat. The wider mountain accommodates several hours of walking once you are up.

The coastal path that wraps around the rocky Cap Brun peninsula east of the Mourillon, with cliff-top views over the Rade de Toulon and the Iles d'Or. The Cap Brun section, closed since 2008 after a landslide, fully reopened in 2024 after joint works between the Métropole and the Résidence Cap Brun. Now walkable end-to-end from Anse Méjean to the Mourillon. Dogs on lead are tolerated on the rocky zones; the supervised sandy beaches stay closed to dogs in summer.

Two dedicated fenced off-leash enclosures installed by the City of Toulon as part of the 2023 Mourillon regulation: one zone for small dogs and a second for medium and large dogs, with seating, a water point and waste-bag distributors. The only formally fenced off-leash space inside Toulon. Operating year-round, with maximum 30 minutes per visit at peak hours to manage rotation.
