Dog Parks & Green Spaces in Strasbourg

Strasbourg's most beloved park, dating back to the 17th century and adjacent to the European Parliament, features a Napoleon III pavilion, a small deer park with Alsatian storks, a lake, and a miniature train. The 0.3-acre fenced off-leash dog area in the northeast corner of the park is Strasbourg's most popular — arrive early on weekends to avoid the queue at the gate.

Covering 64 hectares on the site of a former Vauban fortress, Parc de la Citadelle is quieter and wilder than the Orangerie and popular with local dog owners who prefer its dense woodland and less-manicured atmosphere. A designated off-leash zone is located within the park, and the surrounding Robertsau nature reserve trails extend the walk for energetic dogs.

A tranquil neighborhood park close to the southern edge of the city centre, with wide open grass lawns, shaded tree groves, and easy walking paths along the Ill canal that are ideal for dogs who need space without crowds. It is significantly less busy than the Orangerie and makes an excellent early-morning stop on your way in or out of the city.
