Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Sorrento

A seafood reference built on a wooden pontoon over the water in the Marina Grande old fishing port, run by the De Gregorio family since 1924, serving the catch landed daily by the Marina Grande gozzi (small wooden fishing boats) under the cliff face crowned by the Villa Comunale gardens 80 m above. Leashed dogs welcome on the entire pontoon terrace; the small indoor salon admits only assistance dogs.

A historic centro storico trattoria 200 m north of Piazza Tasso, opened 1930, with a vine-covered courtyard garden and indoor frescoed rooms in a 17th-century palazzo, serving traditional Sorrentine cooking (gnocchi alla sorrentina, scialatielli ai frutti di mare, parmigiana di melanzane, delizia al limone) and a deep Campania wine list. Leashed dogs welcome in the courtyard garden year-round; the frescoed indoor rooms admit only assistance dogs.

A Slow Food-affiliated Campania mozzarella taverna on a narrow vico behind Piazza Tasso, opened by chef Franco Coppola, working exclusively with mozzarella di bufala campana DOP from the Piana del Sele 50 km south, Cilento goat cheeses and Vesuvius slope wines. Two-table outdoor pavement extension on the cobbled vico; both pavement and the indoor low-ceiling main room welcome leashed dogs year-round.
