Getting Around Sóller with Your Pet

The Ferrocarril de Sóller has run between Palma and Sóller since 1912, a 27 km narrow-gauge line through tunnels and orange groves that climbs over the Tramuntana shoulder. Trains are original wooden carriages with brass fittings, the journey takes 1 hour and is itself the attraction. Pets are accepted under operator conditions, typically muzzled or in a carrier, with a supplement for larger animals. Always confirm current policy at the ticket office on the day of travel as policy can vary by service.

The Tranvía de Sóller has linked the town centre to Port de Sóller since 1913, a 4.9 km open-air vintage tram that rolls through orange groves and along the harbour promenade. Wooden carriages, brass bells, and exactly the right Mediterranean speed. Pets are accepted under operator conditions (muzzled or in a carrier). The journey takes 30 minutes and runs every 30 minutes from 07:00 to 21:00 in season. Many visitors use it as a sightseeing ride rather than transport.

The regional TIB bus network operates two key lines from Sóller: L210 to Palma (45 min via the Sóller tunnel, around €5) and L203 along the Tramuntana coast to Pollença and Alcúdia. Small pets in an approved carrier travel free; larger dogs may be accepted at the driver's discretion. The L210 to Palma is by far the fastest connection to the airport (PMI) via a transfer at Palma Estació Intermodal. Tickets are bought on board.
