Pet-Friendly Attractions in Sóller

Plaça d'Espanya is the social heart of Sóller, an irregular Modernist square flanked by the Església Sant Bartomeu (its façade restored 1904 in a Gaudí-influenced style by Joan Rubió i Bellver) and the equally Modernist Banc de Sóller. The vintage tram and the wooden train stations both open onto the square, which means a constant theatre of arrivals, departures, café terraces, and locals walking dogs. Dogs on a leash are welcome throughout the square and on every surrounding terrace.

The Port de Sóller is one of the most photogenic natural harbours in the Mediterranean, a near-perfect horseshoe bay enclosed by two headlands and two lighthouses. The 2 km seafront promenade runs from end to end, lined with palm trees, terrace bars, and the open-air tram tracks. Dogs on a leash are welcome the full length. The view back toward the town with the Tramuntana mountains behind it, especially at sunset, is the postcard image of Sóller.

Mirador Sa Foradada is the most iconic viewpoint of the Tramuntana coast, a clifftop above the pierced rock peninsula that gives the spot its name (Sa Foradada means 'the pierced one' in Catalan). It sits on the Ma-10 road south of Deià, 25 minutes from Sóller. The viewpoint itself is open and dog-friendly, and a steep 45-minute leashed walk descends to the rock at sea level. Sunset over the Mediterranean from here is one of Mallorca's signature views.
