Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Siena

A historic Sienese osteria 50 m from Piazza del Campo, opened 1880 in a former pharmacy with the original wooden cabinets still lining the walls, run today by the Stefani family on the Chianti estate of Castello di Ama. Pici al ragu di Chianina, ribollita and Sienese pork specialities. Leashed dogs welcome on the small Via del Porrione pavement extension and the inside ground-floor room year-round; the upstairs Sala dei Vini admits only assistance dogs.

A family-run Sienese trattoria 250 m south of Piazza del Campo, built on top of an Etruscan cistern (visible through a glass floor panel) and a Roman house, with a deep cellar of 800+ Tuscan labels. Pici cacio e pepe, pappardelle al cinghiale, bistecca alla fiorentina from Chianina cattle of the Val di Chiana. Leashed dogs welcome on the small Via Duprè pavement and the ground-floor brick-vaulted main room year-round; the lower Etruscan cistern dining area admits only assistance dogs.

A wine-driven enoteca on the medieval Via dei Termini between the Piazza del Campo and the Banchi di Sopra, named after the three terzi (thirds) of the Sienese contrade system. 600+ Tuscan and Italian labels by the glass, salumi from Cinta Senese pork and Pecorino di Pienza tasting boards. Leashed dogs welcome on the cobbled pavement extension and inside the brick-vaulted main room year-round.
