Pet-Friendly Attractions in Saturnia

The only one of Saturnia's four Roman gates still standing, Porta Romana opens onto the line of the ancient Via Clodia, right beside the Rocca Aldobrandesca, a 12th-century fortress restored by Siena in the 15th. Both are easily seen from the outside on lead in a few minutes, before continuing to the small Piazza Vittorio Veneto nearby.

Nicknamed 'Little Jerusalem' for its historic Jewish quarter, Pitigliano is built entirely of tufo rock on the edge of a cliff and is visible from far off on the approach road, one of the most photographed views in Tuscany. The cobbled lanes and main square are walkable on lead; some of the climbs are steep.

A tiny, beautifully preserved hamlet, an Etruscan and then medieval town, with a single cobbled street lined with stone buildings, a Romanesque cathedral and the remains of an Orsini fortress. The nearby Etruscan necropolis sites are also outdoor and walkable with a dog on lead.
