Stadtamhof island · Jahninsel, 93059 Regensburg
Long thin island in the Danube between the Altstadt and Stadtamhof. Flat gravel paths, large lawns, mature trees and uninterrupted views back to the cathedral. The locals' favourite afternoon dog walk.
💡 Cross the Eiserne Brücke pedestrian bridge from the Altstadt. The sunset light on the cathedral spires from the western tip is the city's best free photo.
West of Altstadt · Riesengebirgstraße, 93047 Regensburg
An English landscape park created in 1804 around the neo-Gothic Dörnberg villa. Old plane trees, formal lawns and a fenced Hundeauslaufzone on the southern edge. A neighbourhood favourite, very calm.
💡 10 minutes walk west of the Altstadt. The fenced Hundeauslaufzone fills with locals between 17:00 and 19:00 on weekdays.
