Getting Around Palma with Your Pet

Since 2024 the entire EMT urban bus network in Palma permits pets on all lines. Large dogs must be muzzled and on a leash; a €0.30 dog ticket is required. Small pets in an approved carrier travel free. Guide dogs are always permitted without restriction. The main tourist lines include Line 1 (airport–city centre) and Line 50 (port–Portixol).

Mallorca's regional train network (SFM) connects Palma to Inca, Sa Pobla, and Manacor. Dogs in carriers travel free; larger dogs must be muzzled and on a leash and a small supplement applies. The train to Sóller (a separate heritage line) also accepts dogs under the same conditions. An excellent option for day trips to the island's interior with your pet.

Taxis in Palma are at the driver's discretion for pets. Book through Radio-Taxi Palma (971 401 414) and request a pet-friendly vehicle when reserving. Most drivers accept dogs in a carrier without issue; larger dogs may require advance confirmation. The ride from Palma Airport to the city centre takes about 15–25 minutes and costs approximately €20–25.
