Pet-Friendly Attractions in Palma de Mallorca

Castell de Bellver is one of Europe's only circular medieval castles and the most distinctive landmark in Palma after La Seu. Built in the early 14th century as a royal residence and later a prison, it sits on a wooded hill 3 km west of the city centre with panoramic views of the bay. Dogs are welcome in the castle grounds and wooded park surrounding it. A morning hike up the hill with a dog is one of the best introductions to Palma you can have.

The Passeig des Born is Palma's most elegant boulevard — a wide, tree-lined promenade lined with upmarket shops, galleries, and terrace cafés. It runs from the old moat gardens down to the seafront and is the social heart of the city. Dogs on a leash are welcome the full length of the promenade. Many of the terrace cafés along it explicitly welcome dogs, and the wide pavement makes it easy to walk even with a large breed.

La Seu is the defining image of Palma — a colossal Gothic cathedral rising directly from the sea wall, its golden sandstone illuminated dramatically at sunset. Dogs are not permitted inside but the surrounding gardens and promenade (Parc de la Mar below the old walls) are excellent for a walk with a dog on a leash. The Parc de la Mar has a large artificial lake, shaded paths, and the most iconic view of the cathedral you will find.
