Neringa is a 50-km string of four resort villages (Nida, Juodkrante, Preila, Pervalka) on the Curonian Spit with a permanent population of roughly 2,500 that swells to tens of thousands in July and August. Most dining is concentrated along the Nida lagoon promenade and the Juodkrante waterfront, with seasonal terraces facing the water from May to September. Lithuanian terrace culture is informal: leashed dogs are commonly welcomed outside, and the nationwide Draugiski Gyvunams (Pet Friendly) sticker network identifies venues that also accept dogs inside. The signature local dish is smoked fish (eel, bream, perch) bought directly from family smokehouses by the boat harbours.
