Pet-Friendly Attractions in Mojácar

The whitewashed hilltop village is Mojácar's signature sight, a cascade of white cubist houses, flower-filled lanes and Moorish corners climbing to the Plaza Nueva, the lively heart of the town. From its mirador, leashed dogs and their owners get sweeping views over the Río Aguas valley to the sea and the surrounding Cabrera and Bédar mountains.

At the foot of the old village, the Fuente Pública is a historic Moorish spring fountain where, for centuries, the women of Mojácar washed clothes and drew water. It is a shaded, atmospheric open-air spot that leashed dogs can visit freely, and a cool place to pause on a walk between the beach and the pueblo.

The 18th-century Torre de Macenas watchtower stands above the wild natural beaches at the southern end of Mojácar, within the protected Sierra de Cabrera-Bédar coastline. It is a scenic, leashed-dog-friendly walk right beside the new Perulejo dog beach, with the ruined Castillo de Macenas and quiet coves nearby.
