Alcazaba Fortress Gardens
Historic Centre · Calle Alcazabilla 2, Málaga
The Alcazaba is Malaga's most impressive historic monument — an 11th-century Moorish fortress rising dramatically above the city centre. Dogs are not permitted inside the interior museum, but the exterior paths, the approach gardens, and the terraced grounds around the fortress are accessible with a dog on a leash and are spectacular. The gardens feature ornamental fountains, orange trees, and views over the city that are among the best in Andalusia. Combined with the adjoining walk to Monte de Gibralfaro, this is a genuinely excellent half-day with a dog.
💡 Arrive early morning for the best light on the fortress and to avoid the largest tour groups
