Limassol is an easygoing seaside city for dogs, with terrace cafรฉs, a long promenade, and designated dog beaches nearby. The biggest thing to plan around is the summer heat. A few local rules and habits will make your stay smoother.
Dogs must be leashed in public streets and parks. Dog waste must be picked up, and fines apply across Limassol municipality. Dogs are banned from most organised public beaches with lifeguards (such as Dasoudi), but are welcome year-round at the district's two designated dog beaches and off-leash at the Zakaki dog park.
From June to September, daytime highs often exceed 33ยฐC and pavement and sand can burn paws. Walk dogs before 09:00 or after sunset, always carry water, seek shade, and never leave a dog in a parked car. Watch for signs of heatstroke (heavy panting, drooling, weakness).
Spring (AprilโMay) and autumn (OctoberโNovember) are ideal: warm, mild, and comfortable for dogs. Winter is gentle and quiet, great for beach walks. Peak summer (JulyโAugust) is hot but workable if you stick to early mornings, evenings, and shaded terraces.
Combine a morning walk along the Molos seafront and sculpture park with a coffee on a dog-friendly terrace, then drive west to the ancient ruins of Kourion, whose open archaeological grounds and clifftop sea views are walkable with a leashed dog. Finish at the Prolimnos dog beach near Pissouri.
