Pet-Friendly Attractions in Liepaja

Built 1742 to 1758 in Baroque-Classicist style, this Lutheran cathedral houses the largest unreconstructed mechanical organ in the world, 131 stops, four manuals, over 7000 pipes. The organ is played at Sunday services and the September International Organ Music Festival; demonstrations can be booked. Dogs are not admitted inside but the cathedral square and the 55 m tower exterior are open year-round.

The only military prison in Europe open to tourists, originally built in the early 20th century and used through Tsarist, Soviet and Latvian periods as a disciplinary centre. Visits are guided only, every hour on the hour, and dogs are not admitted inside the cell blocks. The exterior red-brick complex, the surrounding Karosta district streets and the Northern Forts coastal walk are fully dog-walkable.
