Best Beaches Near Klaipeda for Dogs

A long wide white-sand beach just north of Klaipeda port, sheltered from the wind by tall dunes and divided in two parts (Melnrage 1 and 2). Family-friendly infrastructure, parking, accessibility ramps and a clear view over passing cruise ships entering the harbour.

The northern tip of the 98 km Curonian Spit, reached only by ferry from the Old Town, offers fine golden sand, clear shallow Baltic water and pine forest right behind the dune. Within the UNESCO biosphere reserve, so wildlife protections apply; the beach itself is one of the most picturesque coastal stretches in Lithuania.

A quieter forest-backed beach further north than Melnrage, popular with locals escaping summer crowds and easily reached by bike along the coastal path. Long flat stretches of sand, low dunes and a relaxed atmosphere; the area is generally tolerant of leashed dogs year-round.
